'Mirror's Edge Catalyst' news: Players give their impression on the closed beta version

“Mirror’s Edge Catalyst” is going to be released a month from now and players were able to try a closed beta version of the video game. EA and DICE, the developers of the game, organized an event as a trial for the closed beta. The gamers who were able to test it gave some of their impressions.

The first title of the game, “Mirror’s Edge,” was released in 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Now, the new title will be released as a reboot of the franchise.

The game is about a female character named Faith Connors who just got out of prison and was rescued by another character, Noah. The characters will rebel against the forces of KrugerSec.

Speed and parkour are the main elements of the game. Faith is a skilled free runner, and the game is not all about facing her enemies in a combat but mostly dodging or disarming them. “Mirror’s Edge Catalyst” is about getting from one place to another for the main protagonist. Players can choose how they will reach the main objective depending on the alternate routes that will be available as reported by Gaming Bolt.

Furthermore, Faith can also be controlled by using her ability, Runner Vision, which helps the player choose different paths rather than being forced to run through only one path.

According to Elo Talk, with the expansive design of the game’s sandbox environment and also in line with the improved graphics and visuals, “Mirror’s Edge Catalyst” is a very improved game compared to the previous iteration that was released eight years ago. In addition, the developers have given more attention on the graphic design making it more realistic.

Despite the good impression made by the game, its release has been pushed back in order to fix the bugs and crashes reported during the closed beta.

“Mirror’s Edge Catalyst” will be launched on June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe release. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
