Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date: Surface devices gain 1 TB variants


While Microsoft is still playing the silent game as to the release of the long rumored and much-awaited Surface Book 2 and the Surface Pro 5, the tech giant recently released new variants for the current Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book devices, this time sporting a way bigger storage capacity than previous versions.

First off is the new version of the Surface Book. The new variant still packs the power and portability that it has been known for. Users can enjoy having powerful computer on the go, or switch to using it as a tablet instead when the situation calls for it all without losing performance power.

Among other new things, the highlight of the new version of the Surface Book is the 1 TB worth of storage capacity. Previously, the device was only offered with storage capacity variants of up to 512 GB only.

The new 1 TB version is only available with the sixth generation Intel Core i7 processor. It comes with a 13.5 inch display with the PixelSense touchscreen technology, the Surface Pen stylus accessory, and is pre-loaded with Windows 10 on its system. A Microsoft Office 30-day free trial is also available.

The 1 TB variant of the Surface Book is available for a price of $3,199. Users who plan to go to the Microsoft Store and avail of this new variant of the Surface Book will get a freebie the Maroo Leather Sleeve. This free leather sleeve can be used to protect the device from accidental bumps, as well as store them worry-free of scratches.

Meanwhile, the current Surface Pro 4 device also received this a similar update. The new 1 TB version of the Surface Pro 4 costs $2,699 and comes with a free voucher from Microsoft.

Only the first 250 customers who pre-order these new Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 variants will qualify for the freebie.
