Disney’s D23 Expo 2015 celebrates the 60<sup>th anniversary of the Mickey Mouse Club. And they are doing this by convening the original Mouseketeers from the early years of Disney. This will be a field day for hardcore Disney fans because there will be new merchandise and autograph signings. The handprints of Annette Funicello will be displayed, too. The original club of Mouseketeers will have a panel and a special presentation entitled “Celebrating Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club 60 Magical Years” according to a report by The Examiner.
The panel will be hosted by the author Lorraine Santoli who created the Official Mickey Mouse Club Book. The panelists will comprise of Sharon Baird, Sherry Alberioni, Tommy Cole, Bobby Burgess, Darlene Gillespie, Doreen Tracey, Tim Considine, David Stollery, and Cubby O’Brien. This momentous celebrations will take place on August 16 at the Stage 23 of Anaheim Convention Center at 5 p.m as part of a weekend-long celebration from August 14 to 16. The A Goofy Movie cast will also be having their reunion during this weekend.
The D23 was created by Disney as a special club to celebrate the devotion of the most intense Disney fans all over the world. The weekend is an annual event that usually involves release new Disney merchandise, shows, concerts, sneak preview of upcoming movies and characters, memorabilia, theme park launches, and many others. Kids and kids at heart enjoy the novelty and this 60<sup>th anniversary proves to be extra special since they will have collector’s items on the list and the hand prints of a Disney Legend.
Children’s tickets cost $48 and adults can have the one-day pass for $74. Discounted rates also apply to those who will be there for multiple days. The recent press release of the event promises that the schedule for the weekend will be jampacked with activities worth visiting this coming August.
