The Meizu m3e, the Chinese mobile developer’s newest smartphone release, recently had over 3 million people registering for a chance to get a hold of the device. The smartphone was launched just a few days ago, and since then, the number of people who have signed up to purchase the device hit the multimillion mark already.
According to a new report, the new Meizu m3e was only launched and opened up for registration last Aug. 10, and less than 24 hours later, the device already had more than 3 million users signed up for their chance to own the device for when it eventually goes on sale.
However, it should be noted that while millions of people showed interest in a device that is not even the flagship model of the company, registrations do not equate to pre-order sales, since there is no exchange of money throughout this process. The registration process is just so interested customers will be able to enter their information on Meizu’s database in order for them to be given a guaranteed slot during the first batch of sales for the device. Registration to participate in the flash sales closed last weekend, on Aug. 13.
The new Meizu m3e combines power and specifications with an affordable price, as compared to the same level of device specs offered by other developers. The device sports a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution. It runs under a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset with an octa-core central processing unit (CPU) clocking in at 1.8 GHz.
It packs 3 GB worth of random access memory (RAM), and 32 GB of read-only memory (ROM) which is expandable via a microSD card slot. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel front snapper. It is powered by a 3,100 mAh battery and boots on the Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system. The device is currently priced at CNY 1,299 which is about $195.
