The upcoming second season of the critically acclaimed Netflix series “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” will have a new showrunner and executive producer as Raelle Tucker comes in to the show and takes on the mentioned duties.
According to a report by Deadline, Tucker, executive producer and showrunner of the A&E drama “The Returned” was recently tapped to be the new executive producer and showrunner of the upcoming second season of “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” on Netflix. Tucker came in to the show to fill in the position that was left vacant by previous executive producer and showrunner Liz Friedman as she now moves on to the new ABC series “Conviction.”
Tucker will be working with the show’s creator and fellow executive producer and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. Aside from her duties and showrunner, Tucker will also co-writer the second season of the series. Rosenberg expressed her excitement in being able to work with Tucker for the series.
“We’ve had such an incredible response to our first season, on which I’ve been so fortunate to have an extraordinary team all the way down the line from the fellow writers, executive producers, cast and crew,” she said. “I’m thrilled to have someone as talented as Raelle join our team as writer and executive producer as we delve into Jessica’s continued story.”
Additionally, Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb is confident that the involvement of Tucker in the series will greatly benefit the show and will further help bring to fans a better second season of the series.
The first season of “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” is still available on Netflix. No release window had been given for the second season yet. The latest Marvel original Netflix series to arrive is the second season of “Daredevil.” Other upcoming series include “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage.”
