'Marvel's Agent Carter' season 2: Madame Masque's mask won't be in the show

One of the most notable new character additions when “Marvel’s Agent Carter” returns for a new season is comic book villain Madame Masque. True to her namesake, one of her iconic characteristics is her gold face mask. However, it was recently revealed that while she will indeed be a part of the show, she won’t be sporting the comic book look she was known for.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, series executive producer Michele Fazekas revealed that Whitney Frostplayed in the series by actress Wynn Everettwon’t sport the iconic golden mask her character used to don in the comic books, but will instead have something that is a nod to that element.

“She never wears a gold mask, but you’ll see a nod to that,” Fazekas said in the interview.

Also, the arrival of Whitney Frost in the show would mean that Peggy Carterplayed by Hayley Atwellwill meet her match and vice-versa.

“They’re a very good match for each other. Whitney is smart, and Peggy can see through Whitney’s faade of being a glamorous actress. Whitney is used to people treating her with a certain amount of deference, because she’s a famous actress, and she’s met her match in Peggy.”

Whitney Frost and Peggy Carter will cross paths as Peggy goes to Hollywood for season 2, still working for the SSR.

The new synopsisvia ComicBook.comfor the upcoming second season is as follows:

“Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Agent Peggy Carter journeys from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous and bizarre assignment yet. Upon her arrival, Peggy reunites with Howard Stark’s (Dominic Cooper) butler and her loyal partner-in-crime, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), who welcomes her to the Hollywood life and sets her up at Stark’s mansion. There, Peggy meets Ana (Lotte Verbeek), Jarvis’ free-spirited and devoted wife to whom she takes an immediate liking.”

The investigation adventure of Peggy will eventually lead her to the “quirky yet charming” scientist Jason Wilkes, played by actor Reggie Ausitin–who becomes more than an ally to Peggy.
