'Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite' release date, news: Developers targeting late 2017 launch for title, according to producer

It seems that the upcoming “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite” will be released sometime late in 2017. The revelation is made by Capcom producer Tomoaki Ayano.

According to Game Rant, one of the biggest surprises of the 2016 PlayStation Experience is “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.” It has now become more hyped up with Tomoaki Ayano’s announcement about a specific release window for the game’s release.

In an interview about the 2017 lineup for Capcom, Ayano said that the company is aiming for a release window late this year. This puts the game right in the middle of the fall gaming rush season, but it makes sense as “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite” will probably become one of the biggest 2017 game titles.

While it is unfortunate that Ayano did not reveal the month of the game’s release, it is possible that the release date will finally be announced at the 2017 E3 event this coming June. It is still expected for the game to be showcased during the Sony press conference at the show, probably revealing some of the PlayStation-exclusive benefits as well.

The most exciting part of the reveals for “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite,” though, is the announcement of new characters. This is most especially the ones that never made an appearance in the game series, such as Mega Man X and Captain Marvel. Regardless, returning characters are also good, like Captain America, Iron Man, and Ryu, among others.

Additionally, according to We Got This Covered, the announcement of “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite” was noteworthy. This is due to the fact that the series has been hibernating for almost half a decade. As fans can remember, the last game in the series was released back in 2011. Also, with the exception of a few ports and remakes, the series was not mentioned over the years.

“Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite” is expected to be released sometime in late 2017.
