Married at First Sight rumors: lack of updates means show may be axed

There might not be a third season of the reality show Married at First Sight, judging by the lack of updates about the show.

According to the Venture Capital Post, much of the show’s woes stem from the fact that four couples in the previous season ended up divorcing each other. One of these couples, Jason Knowles and Kate Stewart, caught much attention after they decided to part ways just two weeks into the marriage.

The Mirror UK said that the marriage fell apart Kate’s friends spotted Jason’s profile in the dating site Tinder. However, Jason maintained that he did not cheat at all during the season he only created that profile in Tinder when he decided that it was not going to work out between him and Kate. He also told the Mirror UK that they did not consummate the honeymoon, and that he enjoyed talking more with the bar staff than spending time with Kate while they were in Ireland.

Movie News Guide also reported that the page responsible for issuing casting calls in the show’s official website has been closed. While this could also be taken as an indication that too many have already auditioned to join the show, the reported suggested that it could also mean that the show stands no chance of being picked up for another season.

Aside from Jason and Kate Stewart, a Vine Report said, three other couples have also parted ways as couples. These couples are: Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone, Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio, and Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino.

Realty Today revealed that Castro and De Nino are embroiled in legal troubles, as Castro sought a restraining order against her ex-husband for threatening her family.

Only the marriage of Emma Rathbone and James Ord-Hume lasted until the end of the season.

While the show could end up getting axed in FYI, its Australian counterpart’s future seems brighter as it was picked up for Season 2, the Evening Standard reported.
