Manny Pacquiao next fight rumors: Reports claim Kell Brook worth considering

Boxing fighter Manny Pacquiao has repeatedly announced that his upcoming fight with Timothy Bradley in April will be the last one in his career before he retires. However, some fans refuse to believe it and suggest that he may comeback after getting some rest.

According to Bad Left Hook, his trainer Freddie Roach is convinced that if Pacquiao does not win his bid for a senatorial position in the Philippines, he will return to the ring. “If he doesn’t win the senate race, what will he do? Does he go back to being a congressman? Being a congressman and a boxer is OK. Being a senator and boxer may be a little too much,” he said.

“I do know Manny well, though. He would love to be the senator who defended his title someday. I don’t think this is his last fight for some reason. I just don’t see it because he has a lot left in him. His work ethic is still great. I’d be disappointed if this was his last fight,” Roach further explained.

The report added that Roach wants to see him have a rematch against Floyd Mayweather, Jr. even though the latter has already stated that he has retired to focus on helping train upcoming young professional fighters.

Moreover, if the 37-year-old former boxing champion with current standing of 57-6-2 and 38 knockouts continues with his career, HBO unofficial scorekeeper Harold Lederman suggests it is worth considering that his next fight may be against Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs).

The British fighter is returning on March 26 when he makes a mandatory defense against Kevin Bizier in Sheffield and he is said to be looking for a major fight during the summer.

According to Boxing Scene, his team is aiming to secure a match against Amir Khan, but it seems like it may not be happening.

As Brook is promoted by Eddie Hearn by Matchroom Sport, there may not be a problem with Pacquaio’s Top Rank, unlike with the welterweight and junior welterweight fighters under the contract with manager Al Haymon who is deemed to have little to no business with Pacquaio’s promotional team.

It remains to be seen if this comes to fruition. As fans wait, they may catch Pacquaio-Bradley upcoming fight on April 9.
