Dancer Maddie Ziegler continues to make waves in the entertainment industry after recently winning a major award.
According to reports, the former star of Lifetime’s reality competition series “Dance Moms” received the Breakthrough Performer Award at the 2016 Industry Dance Awards, an event that honors achievements in the field of dancing. Aside from acknowledging the young talent’s success, the award also benefits the charitable organization Dance Against Cancer, which raises funds and awareness to those fighting the deadly disease.
Aside from Maddie, her little sister MacKenzie was also there to present an award and fellow cast member JoJo Siwa also won an award from the said organization.
During the event, Maddie gushed about pop artist Sia whose music videos she starred in several times. The young dancer will also join the singer on her upcoming “Nostalgic for the Present” concert tour.
Talking to “The Insider” host Keltie Knight, “She’s the best. I’m so honored to be dancing with her for six weeks,” the 13-year-old performer bragged. “Sia’s like my second mom. She’s like a best friend to me.”
She also admitted that she has been asked countless of times about the 40-year-old musician’s mysterious real look which the latter keeps hidden while performing on stage as it reportedly helps with her stage fright, “A beautiful, loving, caring face,” Maddie described.
“People are like, ‘I don’t know what she looks like,’ but if you just go on the internet, she’s showed her face before. People are always like, ‘Is she pretty? Is she ugly?’ I’m like, ‘She’s gorgeous and it’s not just on the outside, but on the inside too.'” she added.
She also exclaimed that Sia is the “sweetest person ever,” and she feels comfortable spending time with her and it never feels like she is hanging out with a celebrity.
Last June, during a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, the audience got a rare glimpse of Sia’s face when the wind blew off her recognizable blonde wig. She also previously revealed it when moving into her new home in Los Angeles.
