MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs news: Apple might launch new gadget at March event; rumored specs revealed

Apple is gearing up for their annual March event to lay out the company’s device list in the next couple of months. Albeit rumored to be a smaller occasion compared to their other ones, the number of devices speculated to be launched is not to be underestimated.

Adding up to the list which includes iPad Air 3 and the iPhone 5se, Apple is also speculated to be rolling out the newest iteration of the MacBook Pro. In a report by Mobi Picker, the March stage is possibly where the tech giant will be unveiling the MacBook pro 2016.

The upcoming laptop is said to weigh 2 lbs and measure 13.1 mm thick. It may also be sporting a couple of colors other than the usual icy gray one that Apple laptops always wear. This time a gold variation might be available to consumers.

A separate report by media outlet Yibada notes that the MacBook Pro 2016 may be sporting a full touch screen and a detachable keyboard, much like a tablet. On top of these new features, enhanced specs are also to be expected in the aforementioned device.

It is said to be running on an upgraded Intel CPU more likely a Skylake chipset which is categorized as a sixth generation processor. With it running the laptop, users can note significant differences in performance. The display quality will be producing 4K graphics and may come in the form of an OLED screen like the ones used on smartphones. Other rumored features include a USB type C connection which is a Thunderbolt port as well as an OS X El Capitan Operating system.

While fans would want to have the MacBook Pro launch earlier, it is possible that it will get unveiled at this year’s Apple WWDC in June.
