Lumia Windows 10 upgrade will come to handsets from low end Lumia 430 to higher tier Lumia 930

While Microsoft is still engaged in rolling out their latest operating system upgrade, Windows 10, across all users, they ensured that their mobile line is covered, announcing the Lumia handsets that are first to get the latest OS.

As soon as it was available, the software giant said that Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930, are the phones that will get Windows 10 upgrade.

The new operating system is expected to aid users in their day-to-day tasks with its multiple new features while giving the user the familiar feel of Windows. For one, users can use Office applications more easily with its popular PowerPoint presentation and Outlook as in PCs. The new OS also enables files to be in sync with other devices and in OneDrive. In addition, it has an Action Center where daily tasks can be quickly done as well as a new browser called Microsoft Edge for a distraction-free reading experience. The handset functionality remains in the devices, while user experience is enhanced as the common applications such as games, music, and videos are stored in one convenient place. To top off the convenience, digital assistant Cortana can help the user with everyday tasks such as sending emails, scheduling events, and searching for files.

For those who are using Lumia handsets, the device needs to have Lumia Denim installed in order to upgrade to Windows 10. This refers to the platform of mobile devices using Windows 8.1.

Microsoft is yet to announce when the roll out for smartphones will begin, but the Lumia devices will be at the forefront to receive it.

Windows 10 was initially launched on July 29, promising users could “Do great things” with its familiar and easy to use feel while featuring synced data across all devices and a smarter virtual assistant.
