'Luke Cage' season 2 release date rumors: Heroes for Hire crossover expected; Iron Fist slated to appear

Netflix’ “Luke Cage” (Mike Colter) is making a mark alongside hot shows in the calibre of “Jessica Jones” and “Stranger Things.” Here’s a look at what to expect in the second season of the famous power man.

There are speculations that “The Defenders” is in the works, and that Cage will pave the way for the assembly of other Marvel characters. Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones are rumored to be in “The Defenders.”

In the first season, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) mentioned that she knows a great lawyer. This teases the possible appearance of the blind lawyer known as Daredevil, who also goes by the name of Matt Murdock. It will be difficult for the production to figure out how Cage will escape from prison, making this one of the most realistic theories for season 2.

Meanwhile, it is also heard through the grapevine that after all the attacks at Pop’s Barbershop, the shop might be converted into the headquarters of Heroes for Hire.

Heroes for Hire was established by Cage and Iron Fist to make money while helping the oppressed. In a video posted by Coolscreens 101, Colter revealed in the Los Angeles Comic-Con last Oct. 28 that, “We’re going to be getting ready to do Heroes for Hire eventually. We’re going to do it.”

Misty Knight (Simone Missick), a detective and past love interest of Cage, was severely injured in the show’s season ender after she was shot during a hostage incident at Harlem’s Paradise. There are rumors that Iron Man might create a bionic arm for her. There is no confirmation yet that this will happen, but it is definitely something that fans will look forward to.

There’s a lot of exciting new rumors but there is no definite date yet on when the second season of “Luke Cage” will be released. It is possible that a new season will be out on 2018 or 2019.

“Luke Cage” season 1 is currently available on Netflix.
