Viewers will see more drama unfold when VH1’s hit reality series “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” wraps up part 2 of its reunion special for the second season. Although the next installment is predicted to be released sometime next year, some stars of the show have revealed that they will not reprise their roles.
In an interview with Essence Live, Apryl Jones shared that she and Omarion will not return for season 3. She explained that her decision apparently came from the difficulty of filming with two infants and trying to maintain a dramatic storyline even though it actually does not exist.
“In the second season they put me with a group of people, but I got along with everyone. I don’t like to gossip or be in other people’s problems. There wasn’t much that I was going to give even if I were to be put in those [dramatic] situations and [the producers] knew that,” she stated.
“They had a lot of respect for me. They never wanted to put me in anything the first season ’cause I was obviously pregnant so I stayed out of the drama,” she added.
When it comes to the so-called curse of reality shows wherein couples breakup after a while such as what happened to the love triangle between Ray-J, Princess, and Teiarra Mari and what transpired between Moniece and Rich Dollaz, Apryl said that she was not worried about it.
“We’ve never been worried about the ‘show curse’ because when we walked into ‘Love & Hip Hop’ we were prepared for what they were going to put us in and they had a lot of respect for Omari and I. We knew we would be okay walking in and walking out.”
According to Hello Beautiful, April is an aspiring artist who is currently working in a studio to find her sound. After giving birth in March next year, she may release a new single in time for the summer.
