Speculations have it that viewers may see the death of both Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and Vic (Katee Sackhoff) in the upcoming season 5 of Netflix’s “Longmire.”
According to reports, following the cliffhanger ending of season 4, where Walt found an intruder in his home while he was having an intimate moment with Dr. Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker), the protagonist may show his apparent violent streak in a possible confrontation. This kind of personality is deemed to continue all season long which may result to his demise.
It is also assumed that Walt may not be able to maintain his budding relationship with Monaghan. Instead, the sheriff will develop a romantic connection with longtime friend Vic, reflecting what happened in the original source material that the Western drama is based on, which is “Walt Longmire Mysteries” by Craig Johnson.
If the couple will indeed hit the end of their arcs, it is deemed that it will happen soon after they get married. The two won’t be killed off in a straightforward manner; rather, they will be involved in a violent car accident that causes their fatality. Their death will then jumpstart a different theme for the show, focusing on the investigation of the accident and who is likely behind it.
The streaming service giant has yet to unveil the official synopsis for the upcoming installment. As such, available information should be taken with a grain of salt. More details are expected to be revealed in the following weeks.
It is predicted that the series may be picked up for a new season based on the hints posted by cast member Lou Diamond Phillips, who portrays Henry, on Twitter. “It is a beautiful (final) day at the Red Pony and continual soiree… until next season! Big thanks,” he posted. However, it remains to be seen if this comes to fruition.
Season 5 of “Longmire” is slated to premiere on Sept. 23.
