“Longmire” is already in the thick of production for its fifth season, and new official updates from the set reveal that actor Dylan Walsh will be on board for the upcoming installment.
The actor will portray Shane Muldoon, who turns out to be the criminal boss of Eddie Heffernan. Muldoon’s calm demeanor and assertive intelligence will make it difficult to find out his true identity.
Walsh is mostly known for his stint in the FX television drama “Nip/Tuck” where he played Dr. Sean McNamara. Following the plastic surgery centered show, the 52-year-old continued to star in small screen shows like “Castle” and “NCIS: New Orleans.” He also nabbed a role in “Unforgettable,” but the show was canceled earlier this year in February.
With Walsh joining the American series, it reunites him with “Nip/Tuck” executive producer Greer Shephard who has been a part of “Longmire” since its early days on A&E Network.
Meanwhile, the crime drama show has continued to successfully keep season 5’s plot points tightly under wraps. After the cliffhanger in the season 4 finale, fans are already clamoring to find out who broke into Walt’s (Robert Taylor) house. In the past few months, there were numerous speculations on who the person might be and what his /her ultimate goal is. Aside from this, “Longmire” will also have longer episodes to cater to other sub stories outside of Walt’s main arc.
“We were previously constrained to 42 minutes and as a result, a lot of my work hit the floor. With an additional 20 minutes, we can let those moments breathe and round out those characters and it’s a much more cinematic experience episode to episode,” Lou Diamond Phillips who plays Henry Standing Bear in the drama confirmed.
Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of “Longmire” season 5, but is expected to drop sometime this September.
