'London Has Fallen' trailer, plot: U.S. president targeted, what will Gerard Butler's Mike Banning do?


A new trailer for “London Has Fallen” was released and it gives moviegoers a glimpse into what kind of thrill they can expect from the action-packed film. 

The trailer takes viewers into the thick of the story wherein world leaders converge in London to attend the funeral of the British Prime Minister  an event considered as the most protected one in history. U.S. President Benjamin Asher is in attendance along with his secret service agent Mike Banning. Everything suddently turns upside-down when Asher is almost killed by an explosion.

This turns out to be an attempt at a massive assassination against a number of world leaders to bring out a change in the world order. Banning saves and hides the president. Back home, Vice President Allan Trumbull tries to keep things under control and tries get the president home safely, but Barkawi, the No. 6 most wanted man, threatens to do more harm unless he can have Asher.

Directed by Frederick Bond, “London Has Fallen” is the sequel to the 2013 movie hit “Olympus Has Fallen,” which earned $98.9 million in the domestic box office. The original lead cast of the first movie will be playing the same roles again, with Gerard Butler returning as Banning, Aaron Eckhart as U.S. President Asher, Morgan Freeman as Vice President Trumbull, and Angela Bassett as U.S. Secret Service Director Lynne Jacobs.

Originally set for release on Jan. 22, 2016, the screening of “London Has Fallen” was moved to a further date and will be shown in theaters on March 4, 2016.
