Riding the waves of the successful showing of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” the Marvel franchise is looking to make some more noise, this time in the gaming arena.
In a video teaser released earlier this week, TT Games and WB Games officially announced the “Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2” game. The short trailer on the game’s official Facebook page showed Groot from “Guardians of the Galaxy” running toward the screen. This happens while things explode in the background. The scene is said to be similar to one of the scenes in the recent movie by Marvel Studios.
Moreover, the video also gave fans a glimpse of another character in the mystical Dr. Strange who is seen flying toward the end of the trailer. Additionally, the video clip also confirmed that a full-length trailer for the game will launch on May 23.
Also, a promotional image of the game reportedly confirms the different characters who will appear in the game. The heroes that come from different teams and storylines include Spider-Man 2099 version, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America. Some surprise characters like Moon Knight and Spider-Gwen will also appear.
Moreover, another image shows other characters like Wolverine, Iron Man, and the Fantastic Four.
The game will be the follow up to the “Lego Marvel Super Heroes” that came out in 2013. The predecessor of the upcoming game received good reviews from tech and gaming enthusiasts. The people gave these praises for its detailed open world framework and its solid line-up of heroes and villains across the Marvel Universe.
Meanwhile, CBR reported that the game will feature time-travelling adventures, as players follow the villain Kang the Conqueror in different times and eras. Some of the confirmed places include The Old West, Sakaar, Ancient Egypt, and New York City set in the year 2099.
Additionally, the game will also feature co-op play, as well as a four-player battle mode.
“Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2” will roll out on Nov. 14 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
