'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 spoilers: Series introduces Justice Society of America, Samurais, Confederate zombies

Two teams of heroes are set to clash in the upcoming, brand-new installment of The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow” season 2.

Titled “The Justice Society of America,” episode 2 features another set of protagonists fighting the good fight. The Legends will travel to the past to Paris which is being ruled by the Nazis and they discover a time aberration that threatens the JSA. However, the latter does not want anything to do with them. The Waverider crew will force their way into JSA’s mission in order to intercept and seize a mysterious package.

Elsewhere, Nate (Nick Zano) will try to prove that he should be a part of the team. But a secret he only shares with his grandfather Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull) may make things difficult for him. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) puts himself and Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) in danger when he desperately tries to impress the JSA.

A change in leadership will also take place. Sara (Caity Lotz) decides to call the shots after Stein (Victor Garber) cannot make decisions. He originally steps up as the head of the group with Rip (Arthur Darvill) gone.

Down the line, episode 3 dubbed “Shogun” will see Nate having powers to his surprise. Afterward, he accidentally lands himself and Ray in Feudal Japan. Sara alongside the rest of the crew will look for them and help Nate master his powers in order to defend the Japanese village from the Shogun and his army of samurai warriors. Back in the ship, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein find a secret compartment. The two will decide not to tell anyone what they learn.

In episode 4, “Abominations,” the Legends will be in the middle of the Civil War with Confederate soldiers who were turned into zombies. With the outcome of the event hanging in balance, Jax must participate in a daring mission by going to a slave plantation with Amaya.

Season 2 episode 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow” is slated to air on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. ET, to be followed by episode 3 on Oct. 27 and episode 4 on Nov. 3.
