'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 air date, spoilers: first look at Justice Society of America

Promotional photos for the upcoming season 2 of The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow” are here, featuring the members of Justice Society of America (JSA).

It can be recalled that the new group of heroes was mentioned back in the freshman run when Rex Tyler also known as Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) introduced himself to the Waverider crew. He warned that a new threat to the world was coming as it appeared that the Legends will not be able to go back to their current timeline yet.

In the images shared by the Den of Geek, a first look at the super-team revealed that it will consist of Star Girl (Sarah Grey), Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull), Citizen Steel (Nick Zano), the grandmother version of Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Seller), Obsidian (to be played by Lance Henriksen and Dan Payne at different ages) and Dr. Mid-Nite (Kwesi Ameyaw).

It has been confirmed that Obsidian is the son of the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott. Meanwhile, one picture showcased a JSA meeting with Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh). Vixen can also be seen wearing a similar outfit as her granddaughter in “Arrow.”

The JSA will appear in the second episode of season 2 during the installment dubbed “Team Work.” There will be time travel involved as it turns out that they are not the JSA of the present but of a different age.

“The Legends travel to Nazi-occupied Paris, but find themselves surrounded by the Justice Society of America. The Legends discover a time aberration that threatens the JSA, but the JSA wants nothing to do with them or their help. Nevertheless, the Legends force their way into the JSA’s mission to intercept and seize a mysterious package,” the synopsis reads.

Season 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow” is slated to premiere on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
