Nintendo made sure earlier this week that they are serious in releasing two DLC packs for the Switch’s “Zelda” game.
During the Nintendo Spotlight event at E3, the gaming giant confirmed that two DLC packs will come out this year. The first, titled “The Master of Trials,” is slated to launch on June 30. The first DLC contains new items except for new story content. It features a challenge called “Trial of the Sword” where Link starts off without any weapon or armor.
A total of 45 rooms will be up for conquest. Completing the challenge will awaken the Master Sword and “and always be in its glowing powered-up state,” read the description.
The DLC also adds a Hard Mode to the game. This brings up the rank of Link’s enemies, as well as their abilities. Moreover, enemies will also start to spawn in areas where they initially aren’t supposed to. They also can spot players easier in Hard Mode. In addition, there is also the Heroes Path Mode, which documents the players’ progress in a journal.
“The route taken will be tracked for the player’s last 200 hours of play time, with an included slider to track footsteps on a timeline,” Nintendo said last month. “This even works retroactively, so players that have already put many hours into the game will be able to see where they have traveled. This feature will help in identifying the locations they haven’t visited in this vast world, and may help players find those Shrines they haven’t encountered yet,” their statement added.
On the other hand, the second DLC titled “The Champions Ballad” will likely revolve around Link and the other four champions of Hyrule. These include Urbosa, Mipha, Daruk, and Revali.
As a follow up to “The Master of Trials,” “The Champions of Ballad” will roll out during the holiday season.
