“Legend of Zelda” was supposed to have a 2016 release exclusively on Nintendo’s gaming console, Wii U. However, it was announced that Nintendo has purposely delayed the launch of the game to 2017.
The company will also release a new gaming console in March 2017 named “NX.” The new title of the “Legend of Zelda” franchise will also be released for the new console.
According to Venture Beat, Nintendo is delaying the game because the company is planning to release the title in line with the launch of the NX. At the same time, the company is still going to release it on the Wii U.
As reported by The Verge, the company made the same pattern in the previous title, “Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.” The game was expected to have a GameCube launch, one of Nintendo’s past gaming consoles. However, the launch was also delayed when the first version of the Wii was released.
Meanwhile, the developers unveiled a new image of the main character of the game, Link. The character was shown not wearing his usual green costume, but instead a blue one. He was also seen holding a weapon and aiming at a target with items around his waist that are yet to be revealed.
While fans await for the new “Legend of Zelda,” Nintendo gamers can expect three exclusive Nintendo releases on the Wii U for this year. These games are “Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE” that will be released on June 24 and “Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games,” which will also be released on the same date. Although there is no confirmed date yet for the release of “Paper Mario: Color Splash,” it will still be launched in 2016.
In addition, as the Electronic Entertainment Expo approaches, another Nintendo exclusive game may also be launched which is “Project Giant Robot.”
