“Metal Gear” franchise creator Hideo Kojima is back to making more games. Following a long string of drama with Konami, the famed game developer officially left his old employer and teamed up with Sony Computer Entertainment to launch Kojima Productions, aimed at making new games with the newest technology available. With that, Kojima previously travelled around the world in search for the “newest technology” that may be of use to him.
In his latest post on his official Twitter account, Kojima talked about how today’s gaming industry depends greatly on technology and gave his thoughts on how one needs to “keep running.”
“Game industry’s always been dependent on the technology,” the game developer said. “Technology evolves on daily so as hardware and software. That’s why you need to keep running. The one who runs at his/her best, the one who runs strategically, the one who runs on his or her pace, the one who seeks the opportunity while running in the second pack. You don’t need to be in the first pack all the time.”
He also added that in the industry, one need to “keep running,” as stopping would have one and up to be at the end part of the pack.
“But once you take a break you will get way behind from the pack. I’ve visited in various studios and all of them have kept running without any rest. Such sense of distance was our ‘shared language.’ I can ‘keep running’ because such top groups exist all over the world.”
Last December 2015, Kojima officially left Konami and launched Kojima Productions. He also announced his company’s partnership with Sony. Kojima Productions’ new game will be a PS4 exclusive and is in the earliest stages of development.
