'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date, news: new leak reveals key info about game's setting

Square Enix’s upcoming action role-playing video game, “Kingdom Hearts 3” is coming very soon and a new leak about the 11th installment in the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise recently surfaced online, claiming to showcase the details of the game’s plot.

Per report from iDigital Times, the plot details were disclosed via a Twitter leak courtesy of a user named @ArikaMiz. In the said leak, there seems to be a suggestion that the second Keyblade war will be the official setting, in which the entire planet is being controlled by a fearsome master.

It is already known that “Kingdom Hearts 3” is a direct follow-up to the events of the game installment “Kingdom Hearts 2,” which means that Sora will be making a return as the main protagonist. But this time, he will be accompanied by one of his best friends in the person of Riku, as well as King Mickey, Goofy, and Donald Duck. The group will be embarking on an adventure to look for the seven guardians of light and the Key to Return Hearts, the purpose of which is to stop the impending devastation of a second Keyblade war.

According to Movie News Guide, Sora eventually grows and is now mature enough to figure out the ultimate plan of Master Xehanort and that the imminent war for the Keyblade will eventually be known as the last battle between good and bad, light and darkness.

While the upcoming game is already highly anticipated in its own right, it is expected that interest in it will increase a bit more with Square Enix’s previous declaration that Sora’s journey will take him to different places that feature Disney and “Final Fantasy” themed properties.

“Kingdom Hearts 3” is set to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in mid-2017.
