'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date, news: Evil Baymax from 'Big Hero 6' to be introduced?

Rumors are rife that the highly anticipated game, “Kingdom Hearts 3” will introduce an evil version of Baymax, the character from “Big Hero 6.”

Reports claim that the usually good-natured healthcare companion will be on the other side of the battle. It can be recalled that the inclusion of the said world was first announced at the D23 event last year but the concept art of a potentially evil Baymax was revealed later on.

The alleged concept art features Sora aboard an armored Baymax battling the darker version of the robot. The latter sports a black suit which is predicted to signify that it is one of the Heartless.

Some suggest that the story behind the creation of the Heartless Baymax may be first revealed in a brand-new “Big Hero 6” TV series set to premiere sometime in January next year. The narrative is said to be set after the events of the movie which showcased Hiro creating a new Baymax when the first one designed by his brother sacrificed itself by remaining in the portal.

Before the portal disintegrated, the original Baymax was able to give Hiro its personality chip which contains all the programs that make it unique and very caring as a medical companion. The one left in the portal is deemed to be transformed into a villain that gamers will see in “KH3.” It has allegedly been influenced by a bad creature during its stay in the portal. However, since there is no official announcement from either Disney or Square Enix, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.

The developers previously confirmed that the storyline of the game serves as the concluding installment in the “Dark Seeker Saga.” Sora will have an epic showdown against Master Xehanort in the exciting second Keyblade war.

The protagonist finds himself in the final struggle between light and dark while his best friend Riku seeks out a battle-scarred Keyblade wielder alongside King Mickey. Sora, Donald and Goofy will also go on a journey to find the “Key to Return Hearts.”

“Kingdom Hearts 3” is expected to launch sometime in 2017.
