'Kate Plus 8' spoilers: Kate worried about her twin daughters; season premiere declines in number of viewers

Season 4 of “Kate Plus 8” just premiered its new installment with more troubles on the way for the single mother.

In the upcoming episode, Kate sees her twin teenage daughters Mady and Cara talking to boys. “I looked up, and I was horrified,” she admitted, noted People. “I can’t deal with it. That moment is etched in my mind forever, because I was like, ‘No! This is not okay with me.’ “

The boys were interested to know why there were cameras on the beach and in which show they were in. Mady told the boys that they should catch the show if they want to see more. Although the conversation seems casual, Kate is still worried for her daughters. She said, “Mady was flirting, and I don’t think she realized it. These are the very first moments of probably many more to come.”

Nonetheless, aside from her daughter’s possible love life as well as her own dating life, Kate may need to worry for her show as well. According to TV by the Numbers, the premiere of the show marked only 955,000 viewers during its 9 P.M. timeslot. Compared to other shows airing at the same time and day, majority got more than 1 million viewers with some even hitting the 2 million or 3 million mark.

Additionally, compared to the number for its previous season, which got 1.8 million viewers in its premiere episode, the fresh season is almost a loss of 1 million viewers. According to Radar Online, one production insider told them that the reason behind this is that the show is just “the same old story. The past is played out and there are too many other things going on in the world.”

Kate promised that there will be new stories coming for the fourth season, but the same insider added that “She’s just not very likeable.” Will the show be able to sustain its fan base and continue for next season?

The next episode of “Kate Plus 8” will air on Dec.15 at 9 P.M. on TLC.
