'Justice League' release date, news: film officially wraps production in Iceland

Well, that’s a wrap. Filming for “Justice League” is officially done as production wraps up in Iceland. Now it is time for post-production to begin. Of course, before that starts, a celebration is in order. And no one can accuse Jason Momoa of not knowing how to celebrate.

Momoa, the actor portraying Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, was all smiles and joyful exuberance at the wrap party. Just take a look at the smile on his face in the photos he shared on his Instagram account. Here’s a photo of Momoa and Ben Affleck, the actor portraying Bruce Wayne aka Batman.

As seen in the photo, Affleck was sporting a beard. An article on Outer Places noted that the only time Bruce was shown with a beard in the first “Justice League” trailer was when he was attempting to recruit Aquaman into the team. The author of the piece pointed out that they were probably filming additional scenes connected with the recruitment before production wrapped up. Good observation.

Now that filming is done, what comes next? Well, post-production will start and as MStarsNews noted, there will probably be reshoots, which is nothing out of the ordinary. Meanwhile, The Mary Sue believes it will only be a matter of days before the next “Justice League” trailer comes out, so keep those fingers crossed.

Fans who have been saying that DC Extended Universe (DCEU) films are too bleak can breathe a sigh of relief because writer Chris Terrio already said “Justice League” will not be as dark as “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” DC Films head Geoff Johns also stated that the film would be more optimistic than past DCEU films. Hopefully, the complaints will stop once the film comes out.

Besides Momoa and Affleck, “Justice League” will also star Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. The film is set to premiere on Nov. 17, 2017.
