Josh Duggar update: Anna Duggar reportedly refuses offer of new house to save marriage

Josh Duggar of the now-cancelled reality TV show “19 Kids and Counting” became the center of scandal mid-May when it was revealed that he molested four young girls, including his sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar, when he was a teenager, and things got even worse when it was revealed that he cheated on his wife Anna through the infidelity website, Ashley Madison, after it was hacked.

Josh is camped in a faith-based rehabilitation center where he is reportedly trying to overcome his sexual addiction.

But although Jessa and Jill said they have already forgiven their brother for his wrongdoing, there were earlier reports that Anna is contemplating divorcing her husband. According to Life & Style, the infidelity has made her feel “disgusting.”

The site quotes their source as saying, “Anna is a loving woman and a devout Christian, but given what Josh has done, no one would be surprised if she decided she never wanted to see her [sic] again.”

However, Josh’s father Jim Bob is said to be intervening, having purchased a 3,800 square foot mansion that is less than a ten-minute walk from the estate of the Duggars. According to a report from In Touch Weekly, Jim Bob has proposed that Anna can have the $345,000 home that comes with four bedrooms and three bathrooms if she stays with Josh.

However, Hollywood Life reports that Anna is rejecting her father-in-law’s offer.

A source told the online publication, “Anna has a new sense of self and isn’t going to put on the happy family show just to please her in-laws. She feels like they are more concerned with image than with the reality of the situation.”

Anna is said to be still open to reconciliation but without the material fix attached to it. The source from the same report said that Anna “is considering her options” and is “more concerned with real healing than merely cleaning up the image to make the Duggar in-laws happy and TV-presentable again.”
