Another Duggar daughter is about to say “I do” as Jinger Duggar is now engaged to Jeremy Vuolo. In a joint statement published on the Duggar family website on Tuesday, July 26, the pair confirmed that they are now engaged.
“It was a beautiful moment and we look forward to a lifetime together,” said the couple. “We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together.”
The statement was accompanied by photos which shows Jinger and the former professional soccer player holding hands. It can be recalled that according to the Duggar family’s courtship rules, couples can only hold hands once they are engaged.
It was only last month when it was announced that Jinger was in a courting relationship with the 28-year-old. At the time, TLC released a video of the pair talking about their relationship.
“As opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord and be very intentional about how we move forward,” Vuolo said in the clip.
During the courtship period, the Duggars are not allowed to go on dates on their own and are usually accompanied by one or two chaperones. They are also not allowed to kiss or hug, but they can give and receive side hugs. Even their text messages are monitored by parents Jim Bob and Michelle to keep them accountable.
Jinger is the fourth eldest daughter in the Duggar family. The 22-year-old already has a book published as she co-wrote “Growing Up Duggar: It’s All About Relationships” with sisters Jana, Jill, and Jessa.
Meanwhile, Vuolo was raised in Downingtown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Syracuse University. According to Us Weekly, he signed with the San Antonio Scorpions in the North American Soccer League in 2013, but took some time off from playing to go on a missionary trip in the Philippines.
It is expected that Jinger and Vuolo’s engagement will be featured in the second season of “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” when the show returns for its second season on Aug. 23 on TLC.
