After being cancelled due to multiple scandals last year, the Duggar family will be back on screen to continue the “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” series.
The television series will be back and will premiere on Mar. 15, said Us Weekly after exclusively learning about the matter.
It will continue the initial story that featured Jessa and Ben Seewald’s journey to parenthood, as well as sister Jill and Derick Dillard in their missionary trip in Central America. Along with them, the show will also include the Seewalds’ three-month old son Spurgeon and the Dillards’ 10-month old son Israel.
Meanwhile, joining them are other Duggar siblings, Jana, Jinger, Joy Anna, John David, Josiah, and Joseph Duggar. Josh’s wife, Anna, is also expected to appear, but no word has been mentioned about Josh. However, the new spinoff will most likely not include Josh’s story, as it has been his multiple scandals last year that resulted to the cancellation of “19 Kids and Counting” almost a year ago.
“Jill and Jessa: Counting On” premiered on Dec. 13 in a three-part special spinoff to feature the birthing journey of Jessa, as well as the missionary trip of the Dillards in Central America. The show seems to have gathered a number of audience, as the network has decided to continue with the spinoff.
In the promotional trailer released for the upcoming show, the video clads the words “Healing from the Past” and “Hopeful for the Future” as Jessa narrates the difficult year that the family had and the lessons they had from those instances.
The clip went on to feature snippets of the Duggar kids, their involvement with taking care of Spurgeon, and Jessa revealing their intent to adopt, before finally closing with “Family is Everything.”
A full season of “Jessa and Jill: Counting On” will premiere on Mar. 15 at 9 P.M. on TLC.
