“Jessica Jones” season 1 closed with Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville) joining the Alias Investigations and fans of this Netflix character have been pleased to know that he will also be appearing in the upcoming Marvel’s Netflix “The Defenders.”
Netflix has been asking showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez of TV series “Daredevil” to help in producing “The Defenders” and the two may have confirmed that the crossover miniseries will immediately follow after “Iron Fist,” with one character from “Jessica Jones” confirmed to appear in “The Defenders.”
A member of SpoilerTV had the chance to ask Darville in a panel shared with “Arrow” and “The Shannara Chronicles” at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo held in Melbourne, Australia earlier this month. Regarding his involvement in the crossover TV series, he said, “Yes. I will be in it. I’m not sure how much yet but I will be in it.”
Darville confirming his appearance, however, raised questions of whether or not other faces from “Jessica Jones” will also be joining the cast of “The Defenders.” Many fans are hoping that Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) would be considered as an addition to the upcoming series, given her seemingly good performance at the end of the first season.
Shooting will reportedly start toward the end of the year for a potential debut in 2017, after Netflix’s “Iron Fist” premieres. Although not yet confirmed by neither Marvel nor Netflix, Darville may also reprise his role in the second season of “Jessica Jones.” It is still too early to say how much role Darville will be playing in the street-level hero team, but news on additional cast members will most likely arise in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, many Netflix viewers will be thrilled to know that Netflix has revealed plans to offer high dynamic range (HDR) to a list of TV series. “Jessica Jones” is among those shows that will be benefiting from the picture quality boost.
