“Jessica Jones” star Krysten Ritter has no idea whether or not her character will be joining the rest of the Marvel superheroes in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe film, but says that she would love to be part of such a project.
Over the weekend, the actress appeared at a comic convention for the first time, arriving at Wizard World Comic Con Portland held at the Oregon Convention Center. While there, Ritter sat at a Q&A panel and fielded questions from Marvel fans.
When asked whether or not she is interested in having Jessica Jones and the Defenders join the rest of the Marvel Universe gang in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War – Part I” which is scheduled for a 2018 release, Ritter said, as quoted by ComicBook.com, “That’s an interesting question because I love Jessica and I love any opportunity to play her.”
“Obviously, it’d be really exciting to be a part of those giant, huge movies with those great characters who are already established, so it’d be awesome,” she added.
But though Jessica and the Defenders may exist in the same universe as Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther and the rest, the “Jessica Jones” star also knows that the Netflix contingent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is very different from the Avengers.
“I’m also really lucky because our Netflix playground is so unique and so grounded and gritty and more adult,” the actress said. Though “Jessica Jones” isn’t exactly R-rated, there are intimate scenes and graphic violence. The series is decidedly more adult than the MCU films, which are crafted to cater to Marvel fans of all ages.
“It’d be awesome if I got to pop up somewhere else. There’s always the chance that could happen,” the actress said.
Netflix has not announced an official release date for the second season of “Jessica Jones.”
