Streaming service provider Netflix is still striking the iron hot with their combo of current and forthcoming Marvel series. A notable mention is their second serving of the private investigator extraordinaire, “Jessica Jones.”
Speculations surrounding the upcoming season have been getting rife, specifically as to who will be accompanying Jessica (Krysten Ritter) in her crime-fighting chores. Word on the street is that police detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) might be spotted in the show’s sophomore season.
For those who are fairly new to the character, in the Marvel comic books, Misty also puts up her own private investigating firm. After a bomb explodes, her arm is blown off. It is later on replaced by a bionic arm courtesy of Iron Man himself. She then decides to put her robotic extension to good use by fighting evildoers in Hell’s Kitchen, just like what Jessica has been doing.
The abovementioned idea is quite plausible since Misty was already introduced in “Luke Cage’s” first season, not to mention that Jessica had a rather intimate relationship with Luke (Mike Colter). Furthermore, photos from the set of the upcoming “The Defenders” show the two ladies having already crossed paths.
If such scenario would materialize, it has yet to be known though if Misty would come in to aid Jessica or be one of the characters that would hinder the protagonist’s crusade.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Luke could still be part of the show’s second season. Furthermore, it is also theorized that Iron Fist (Finn Jones) might make a cameo since both heroes are also known for their team-up in the comic books.
There’s no official word yet from Netflix on when “Jessica Jones” season 2 will be released. Nonetheless, it is believed to air sometime in 2018. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
