“Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey joins the cast of “Jane the Virgin.”
A recent report from The Hollywood Reporter indicated that the young actor will appear on The CW comedy show for an upcoming story arc. The report also said that his role remains under wraps and that Posey’s character is someone from Jane’s (Gina Rodriguez) past. He will first appear on the show’s third season finale.
In early January, the network announced the fourth season renewal of the show. It was confirmed along with the renewals of “Supernatural,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” and The CW’s DC superhero series — “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”
“Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long,” The CW President Mark Pedowitz said in a statement at that time.
As for Posey, the actor will make his directorial debut in second half of “Teen Wolf” season 6, which will premiere in June. However, MTV has announced that the sixth season of the teen supernatural series will be its last. In the show, Posey plays Scott McCall, a senior high school student who is also a werewolf.
Meanwhile, the latest episode of “Jane the Virgin” featured Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) rekindling their romance. In contrast to her parents, Jane struggled on her first date since Michael’s (Brett Dier) death. With some convincing from Rafael (Justin Baldoni) and Petra (Yael Grobglas), Jane went out with Dennis. However, she chickened out when her date tried to kiss her.
In the upcoming episode, Jane seems smitten by her dad’s fellow cast member, Fabian. She looks uneasy seeing the actor when she pays a visit to her dad’s filming set. The very protective father detects her daughter’s flirting with Fabian, and he forbids her to talk to him. Can Jane fight her feelings? What about her relationship with Rafael?
The next episode of “Jane the Virgin” will air on April 24 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
