As a widow and a single mother, Jane’s (Gina Rodriguez) multitasking skills are tested in the latest episode of “Jane the Virgin.”
Career-wise, the budding author was having trouble conceptualizing the love triangle part of the story. In the 13th episode, Jane’s oddball editor was not satisfied with her writings. Hence, she had to beef up her novel or else, she will have to go back to her exhausting publishing job.
It came to light that Jane’s novel, set in the 1900s, is a counterpart of her love story with Michael (Brett Dier), in which Rafael (Justin Baldoni) is also involved. After listening to Alba’s (Ivonne Coll) advice, Jane realized that Michael just wanted her to pursue her dreams.
Meanwhile, Rafael broke up with his girlfriend. The father of Jane’s son refused to move in together with Abby (Minka Kelly). He told Jane that he wants the same love story on her book, but he didn’t see it with Abby.
As a mother, Jane found it difficult to spend time at Mateo’s school. Adding to her struggle were “perfect mom” Petra (Yael Grobglas) and Stacy, one of the mothers, who was mean to her. However, Jane managed to help with the preschool fundraiser and got along with the school’s director.
In the upcoming episode, “Chapter Fifty-Eight,” the parenting battle between Petra and Jane will become apparent as they run opposite each other for Room Mom. Feeling guilty for not being around for Mateo, Jane decided to join the classroom election.
“With the help of Jane and Xo (Andrea Navedo), Alba (Ivonne Coll) tries to impress her crush, but it doesn’t go as smoothly as planned. Rafael tries to be there for both Jane and Petra. Meanwhile, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) tries to slyly get information from Mateo about Xo and Bruce’s (Ricardo Chavira) relationship,” the synopsis reads.
The next episode of “Jane the Virgin” is expected to air on March 20 on The CW.
