'Jane the Virgin' season 2, spoilers: Jane continues to struggle in episode 20; Villanuevas celebrate Mother's Day

The comedy and drama will continue in the upcoming episode of “Jane the Virgin” season 2.

Titled “Chapter Forty-Two,” the story will continue with the struggles of Jane (Gina Rodriguez) in her work, with some circumstances arising that may jeopardize it. Likewise, Rafael (Justin Baldoni) will also be in some form of trouble, which is hinted to be caused by his half-brother.

The upcoming episode is also expected to have some celebrations, but not what the characters may have in mind. Particularly for Mother’s Day, Petra (Yael Grobglas) will be hosting a brunch to celebrate the occasion, but this is not what the women from the Villanueva family are used to. Will they receive the new experience well?

On the other hand, Dina (Judy Reyes) will also be celebrating her birthday, but not everyone will be happy during the festivities as Rogelio (Jaime Camil) will feel that he does not fit in well.

Meanwhile, one of the center stories of the second installment of “Jane the Virgin” is the upcoming wedding of Jane and her fianc Michael (Brett Dier). With a few more episodes before it concludes, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman hinted that the season will end with a wedding scene, but not necessarily “getting married,” reported TV Guide.

Urman teased, “It’s a telenovela, so there are always, always surprises.” The final episode for season 2 will also reopen the story about the Mutter plot. Given this, there are speculations that something bad may happen to the groom or other people that will prevent Michael and Jane from tying the knot. There is also a possibility that fans may be left off with a major cliffhanger in the season.

Episode 20 of “Jane the Virgin” season 2 will air on May 2 at 9 P.M. EST on The CW. The season will conclude on May 16.
