Is Apple about to unleash three new iPhones to the world this year? When the Cupertino-based company introduced the supersized iPhone 6 Plus along with the iPhone 6 in 2014, tech fans were pleasantly surprised as this move gave consumers a choice between the standard 4.7-inch phone and a larger 5.5-inch model. Apple did the same in 2015 when it released the iPhone 6s with the 6s Plus, but this year, it appears that there will be even more options to choose from as according to a recent leak, three new iPhones will make its debut in September.
A set of leaked photos shows the front and back of the alleged 2016 iPhone models the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Pro, and iPhone 7 Plus. According to Phone Arena, the Pro and Plus models look very similar, and the website reports that based on Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s tip, the Pro model will be a higher end version of the Plus option.
The iPhone 7 is expected to have the same dimensions as past flagship phones, and the device will likely have a 4.7-inch display. Meanwhile, the Plus and Pro are both said to have a 5.5-inch display, with the Pro having an upgraded dual-lens camera with optical zoom.
In the leaked photos, the iPhone 7 Pro appears to have a smart connector at the back similar to the iPad Pro models. The cameras lenses on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus also appear to have been upgraded as compared to previous models. Kuo previously noted that the iPhone 7 Plus will have two 12-megapixel camera sensors from Sony, but one of the lenses will have a wider aperture than the other.
The iPhone 7, 7 Plus, and 7 Pro are expected to debut at an Apple event in September and are said to be available in classic iPhone color options, including a new deep blue model.
