Apple has been in the center of numerous rumors regarding their upcoming releases. From laptops, tablets, and smart phones, the Cupertino-based company seems to want to push borders more with the way they release new devices. Despite the anticipation for the iPhone 7, the rumored iPhone 6c is also making waves online.
iPhone 5c, released in 2013, was the supposed mid-range market breaker for Apple. However, the phone didn’t achieve the success that the company projected it to attain due to lacking features. The 4-inch iPhone 6c is Apple’s second attempt to bring the famous iPhone lineup closer to the masses with a more accessible price tag yet packed with Apple DNA that has made them big in the telecommunications arena.
KGI analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who has time and time and again proved to be one of the few reliable sources when it comes to upcoming Apple devices, previously stated that the iPhone 6c will likely hit the market sometime in the first half of 2016. Recent rumors even narrowed down the release date to a launch in January and official sale on February. This may be unusual for Apple to release a phone in the beginning of the year, but it is not the first time that the tech giant will start a new calendar with a release of handset. The first generation iPhone was unveiled in January 2007 but took almost half a year to be available in retail stores.
In order for the upcoming mid-ranger to successfully get into the market, Apple has reportedly uppped their game with the new iPhone 6c starting with its exterior. The new device is purportedly going to sport a metal casing instead of the plastic housing that the iPhone 5c has been in. However, the phone would not be featuring the 3D touch ability which is the pinnacle of the latest iPhone models to cut off production costs and stay within their projected selling price.
