For those who have been patiently waiting for the third version of the iPad Air to be launched, it certainly looks like the waiting game might finally be over, but still no iPad Air 3 in sight.
When Apple officially launched the iPad Pro, there was doubt as to the fate of the iPad Air 3, with rumors centered on the notion that the iPad Pro will, in fact, serve as the official replacement of the iPad Air and that the entire lineup has been discontinued.
To recall, the last time an iPad Air was released was two years ago and in that very long span of time, Apple hasn’t released even a single piece of information referring to the development of a third-generation device. All that’s been written and reported online are rumors and speculations from pundits and tech observers alike.
Specs wise, Yibada reports that the iPad Air 3, provided it still exists, could be equipped with the brand-new A9X processor, making it a very powerful tablet option when compared to similarly priced devices. Meanwhile, having 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) will make it an ideal tool for multitasking.
Although the processing power and graphics capability are expected to be top-notch, the iPad Air line isn’t really known for its high-end camera specs. Therefore, the iPad Air 3 isn’t expected to be different. Rumors have it that the device will have a decent 8-megapixel rear camera, paired with a 2.1-megapixel selfie camera in front.
With Apple scheduled to unveil several new products early next year, there still is a bit of hope that the iPad Air 3 will be one of them, even if the attention right now is on the second-generation iPad Pro. With more than two years of waiting, the iPad Air lineup certainly deserves a refresh.
