Ever since Apple skipped on the announcement of the iPad Air 3 when it launched its latest line up of gadgets last September, fans have been speculating about the possible release date of the long-awaited device. There are rumors saying that the said device may come as early as March next year.
The upcoming tablet is said to have a 9.7-inch display screen that may come with a higher resolution of 2334×3112 or 401 pixels per inch. With this resolution, the iPad Air 3 may have the capability of a 4K display. It may be powered by an A9X processor along with a 3GB or 4GB RAM. For its camera, the rear shooter is expected to be at least 8 megapixels with iSight, while the front shooter may be 2 megapixels.
Moreover, the iPad Air 3 is expected to be even thinner than the iPad Air 2. Likewise, the popular 3D Touch technology and water and dust resistance might be part of the features as well. Cost-wise, the tablet may have a price starting at $610.
Meanwhile, Yibada indicated that the price discounts offered for the recently released iPad Pro is a strong indicator of the nearing launch date of the iPad Air 3. The iPad Pro is giving a $20 educational discount, a type of price cut for students, parents, or faculty members who will use the gadget for educational purposes. This lowers the price to $770 from $799. Major U.S. carriers also offer discounts as much as $100 for those who will avail of their two-year contract options.
The release date may come as early as March along with the predicted release date of the MacBook Air 2016 and MacBook Pro 2016. On the other hand, others suggest that the iPad Air 3 may come around autumn 2016 in time for Apple’s 2016 September release.
