Rumors are rife that more comic book characters may be coming to the highly anticipated game from NetherRealm Studios, “Injustice 2.”

It can be recalled that the confirmed characters include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, the Flash, Aquaman, Blue Beatle, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Harley Quinn and Deadshot. Presumably joining their ranks are Captain Cold, Ra’s al Ghul and Ray Palmer also known as the Atom.

According to reports, when game director Ed Boon had a poll a few months ago asking fans who they wanted to see in the game, results revealed that most of the votes went to Blue Beatle. Following him in second place was Swamp Thing and Captain Cold for the third spot.

Adding to the assumption that Captain Cold may finally arrive in the sequel is an image of a shirt posted by the franchise’s official Twitter account. In the picture, the villain’s weapon of choice, a Cold Gun, can be seen.

Meanwhile, the appearance of Ra’s al Ghul and Ray Palmer were reportedly brought about by their popularity in TV series “Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow.” The said roles are being portrayed by actors Matthew Nable and Brandon Routh, respectively.

There are also assumptions that the voice behind the game’s official trailer maybe Ra’s. However, since there is no word yet from the studio, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.

On a related note, PlayStation Lifestyle shared that the development of the game may be affected by the recent strike of voice actors as it went into production after Feb. 17, 2015.

Based on the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists’ statement regarding the matter, it was mentioned that the union has been trying to renegotiate a two-decade-old contract for the last 19 months with no success.

“SAG-AFTRA has gone to the negotiations table with serious concerns affecting voiceover and stunt performers. It’s time for video game employers to take our proposals seriously and negotiate a modern contract based on actor safety, industry precedent and best practices,” chief contracts officer Ray Rodriguez said.

“Injustice 2” is expected to be released sometime in 2017 across platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
