Days before “Injustice 2” rolls out to major gaming platforms, the game’s mobile version already took the first crack. This provided fans something to keep them company.
The mobile version of the sequel to “Injustice: Gods Among Us” is now available for download for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Despite being a free download, there are still some in-game purchases that range from $3 to $100, Gamespot reported.
Much like its console counterpart, the “Injustice 2” mobile game will come with its own gear system. This allows players to increase their characters’ base stats by leveling up by playing and earning rewards. Moreover, the mobile version will have its own rendition of the actual fighting format. It lets players choose three characters who will fight against three others.
“With Injustice 2, the team has worked extremely hard to build upon an already successful mobile game to bring a fresh fighting game experience to mobile devices,” said NetherRealm Creative Director, Ed Boon. “We are excited to have fans experience a few of our favorite new features including upgraded special moves, improved combat and Story Mode, which will be released chapter by chapter,” he added.
Meanwhile, Comicbook.com shared the game’s official description. It says that “Injustice 2” mobile has “improved combat” and a more “engaging story mode” as compared to its predecessor. Through touch screen controls, players can have their characters perform crouching and jumping attacks. They can also make characters throw projectiles using “advanced zoning techniques.”
Over the past two months, NetherRealm and Warner Bros. Studios released several trailers and videos introducing the different heroes and villains in the game.
Some of the most recent character reveals include Captain Cold, Darkseid, Brainiac, and Batman’s arch-nemesis, Joker. “Injustice 2” for consoles will roll out on May 16 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
