“The Vampire Diaries” fans who are waiting for a real life “Delena” reunion between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev will be sorely disappointed to have their fantasies crushed by Somerhalder himself, who firmly said that his married life with actress Nikki Reed is very happy.
In an interview with People, Somerhalder, who plays the vampire Damon in The CW hit show, described his marriage as “bliss.”
“Every single day. Look who I get to wake up with… We’re under kitties and dogs, and it’s just pure bliss,” he said.
Meanwhile, the couple will be leading the Mardi Paws 2016, which, like the Mardi Gras is a celebration of men’s beloved four-legged friends.
The event will take place on Valentine’s Day along the Mandeville Lakefront.
“Ian and I are excited to participate in this year’s Mardi Paws, and thankful for the Ian Somerhalder Foundation being a beneficiary of the parade,” Reed said in an interview with Nola.
The actor founded the animal rights and environmental advocacy organization that seeks to fund efforts towards global conservation, green energy, and educational tools. The organization also seeks to spread awareness on environmental issues, all while advancing steps towards ending animal cruelty. Among the advocacies of the foundation is also supporting and creating strategies for “no-kill shelters.”
Aside from Somerhalder’s organization, the Mardi Paws will also benefit Scott’s Wish, an organization that helps people with leukemia and other illnesses; The St. Tammany Spay and Neuter Group, that gives low cost spay/neuter services for stray animals and pets from low-income families; as well as the Miracle League Northshore, which helps children with disabilities have access to team sports.
This year’s Mardi Paws has the theme “Love is in the Hair.” Those who wish to register their pets may still do so through the event’s website.
