Viewers of ABC’s highly acclaimed thriller legal drama, How to Get Away with Murder, will see a new face when the show returns on September 24 for Season two.
Deadline exclusively reported that The Vampire Diaries alum Kendrick Sampson is confirmed to join the cast for a recurring and substantial role.
The studio is tightlipped when it comes to the specific role the actor will play but the report added that he may appear during the season premiere episode.
Meanwhile, the premiere episode is also expected to reveal who killed of Rebecca Sutter.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the mystery surrounding the show’s freshman season finale will be unveiled sooner than expected.
Rebecca was last seen in the basement of Annalise Keating’s house, lying dead on a corner. Annalise vowed that she had nothing to do with it while talking to her trusted staff Frank, who also said the same thing.
Speculations are buzzing about the possible identity of the killer since Frank was revealed to be the one who murdered Lila Stangard. It is also possible that Annalise was the culprit as she is depicted to keep the fact a secret from Rebecca’s boyfriend, Wes Gibbins.
However, during Viola Davis’s appearance at Jimmy Kimmel Live on the night when the finale was aired, she said that they have shot an alternate ending where Annalise found Rebecca dead while the latter was still tied to the chair.
Davis’s comments seemed to spark rumors that Wes was the culprit since he was very emotional and committed the same mistake when he accidentally killed Sam. He might also be convinced that Rebecca had actually killed Lila.
For its freshman season, the show has received Emmy Award nominations in two categories including Outstanding Lead Actress in A Drama Series for Davis and Outstanding Guest Actress in A Drama Series for Cicely Tyson.
