Car enthusiasts may be delighted to find out that they can finally get their hands on the new Honda Amaze Facelift 2016.
The model was originally launched by the Japanese automaker in April 2013. It only got a facelift recently featuring a brand new twin-slit Chrome grill with a redesigned front bumper and same headlamps, while the rear part will also get some up-gradations as the taillights have new grahics. The interiors will also have new elements that are predicted to become one of the major selling points.
According to Cardekho, the cabin has a climate control unit that has been missing in the older Amaze. The control is similar to the one introduced to Honda BR-V and it will have a ‘Max Cool’ button. While the dashboard is in elusive black palettes with a new audio unit that supports Bluetooth capability. The touchscreen infotainment unit is believed to come as an optional add-ons while the safety measures includes a standard dual-front airbags.
The engine trims are expected to be the same with diesel trim powered by 1.5-liter i-DTEC motor partnered with 5-speed manual transmission. It can deliver a maximum power of 100 PS with a peak torque of 200 Nm. On the other hand, the petrol trim with 1.2-liter i-VTEC engine mated with both 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions can churn out 88 PS of power with 109 Nm of torque. The 5-speed manual transmission is said to likely remain as standard across the other variants with an option for Automatic gearbox.
The new version of the sedan is expected to compete with the likes Ford Figo Aspire, Ford facelifted Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest and upcoming VW Ameo.
Honda Amaze Facelift 2016 is slated to launch on Thursday, March 3 in India, the price is predicted to be only slightly higher than the original one which starts at around $14,000.
