The very first in-depth look at the upcoming game Hitman recently made its way to gamers through a series of eight leaked gameplay videos.
The videos were obviously an early build of the game, as they still contains a distinct watermark saying: “UNRELEASABLE SEQUENCE May contain placeholder assets & material requiring legal clearance.”
The leaked gameplay videos showed players that the upcoming game’s mechanics do not differ too much from the usual methods long-time fans have been used to, although some elements have been improved along the way.
The leaked gameplay videos dealt with a certain mission, where Agent 47 is tasked to go to the Paris Sanguine Fashion Show and bring down Dahlia Margolis and her partner, Viktor Novikov. A sample of the gameplay videos is avaialable below.
Previously, I-o Interactive studio head Hannes Seifert explained how the game would come to players when it is released, along with details of a real-life simulation of the game.
“It is fully complete at launch but it is not finished,” he said during a recent E3 interview. “What we do is we start the journey on December 8 and what we put out there is going to be a big game. But over the course of 2016 we’ll add more locations, more missions and we’ll have things like targets that only appear for, say, two days. That’s something you can only do in the live world.”
While most games today are released for a certain price with a Season Pass for another price, they will be releasing Hitman for $60, and it will stay that way for all time, despite of DLCs coming in the future.
“We think it’s wrong to approach players like that because players want to be part of that experience but they don’t necessarily want to be ripped off. What we’re going to sell is all of that but it’s for a one-price package.”
Hitman comes to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 8.
