'Hawaii Five-0' 150th episode spoilers: Alex O'Loughlin teases hilarious, dramatic SteveDoris encounter; reveals plan to exit after potential season 8

The upcoming brand-new installment of CBS’ procedural series “Hawaii Five-0” marks the show’s 150th episode featuring potentially heavy family drama with some laughs. Star Alex O’Loughlin previews the milestone and revealed his plans of exiting the series after season 8.

Season 7’s seventh episode titled “Ka makuahine a me ke keikikane” which translates to “Mother and Son” will have the team freeing Steve McGarrett’s (O’Loughlin) mother Doris (Christine Lahti). Catherine (Michelle Borth) informs them that she was captured and is about to be executed after attempting to free Wo Fat’s (Marc Dacascos) imprisoned father.

Elsewhere, Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) loses his appeal to have Sara’s (Londyn Silzer) adoption delayed resulting in her moving to Mexico. Sarah Carter and Emma Schlamme also star as Lynn Downey and young Doris, respectively.

TV Line shared that Doris has been imprisoned at a CIA black site. The bad news will be shared by Catherine who arrives while Steve is in the middle of a cozy evening with current girlfriend Lynn. Meanwhile, Grover (Chi McBride) enlists his son for an “intelligence gathering” operation.

In an interview with the news outlet, O’Loughlin teased that his character will be filled with emotions upon laying eyes on his mother. It can be recalled that Doris previously faked her own death and lied continually to her son with promises of coming back only to let him down countless of times.

“At what point do you sort of give up? And if you don’t give up, what does that look like? … It’s going to be filled with different emotions, but it’s also funny. They’ve gotten to a dynamic where they just frustrate each other!” he elaborated.

Viewers can also expect flashbacks hinting at a very close relationship between mother and son when Steve was still a child.

When asked about his plan to leave the show after a potential season 8, the actor confirmed that it is still on his mind.

“Absolutely. I’m just trying to make it through the end of [Season] 7! [‘Five-0’] is really, really wonderful, but it is an action show, I’m the main guy, and I defy anybody to do what I’ve done for as long I’ve done it and hold out the way I have,” he explained.

“Hawaii Five-0’s” 150th episode is slated to air this Friday, Nov. 4 at 9 p.m. ET.
