Fans are waiting with bated breath for the return of Hannibal on June 4 but before Season 3 opens, NBC released a three minute featurette to tease viewers about what’s in store for the show’s return.
The featurette made some interesting revelations about the flow of events in the third season.
In the clip, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) is shown to be enjoying a life in luxury in Florence, assuming the identity of one of his victims while posing as the husband of Bedelia (Gillian Anderson).
The featurette also delved into how far Bedelia was willing to go when she was asked by Hannibal: “Are you observing or participating?”
“She could be as dark as Hannibal. But you don’t know,” Anderson said.
The clip also hinted that Hugh Dancy’s character Will Graham might finally be ready to make peace with Hannibal as one of the scenes showed him whispering “I forgive you” to the serial killer after spending a good amount of time trying to find his nemesis.
Meanwhile, The Christian Post reported that Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) will also join the cast as Francis Dolarhyde aka The Tooth Fairy and The Red Dragon, a schizophrenic serial killer who murders entire families.
According to the actor, he was very surprised to learn about the character of Dolarhyde because he only familiarized himself with the character when he read Harris’ books.
Dolarhyde was originally portrayed in the movie Manhunter by Tom Noonan. In the film Red Dragon, he was played by Ralph Fiennes.
Hannibal the TV series is based on Thomas Harris’ novels about the cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter, which was originally adapted for the big screen by Orion films starring Jodie Foster as Agent Clarice Starling and Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter.
