Valve might release “Half-LIfe 3” in 2017 or 2018. Meanwhile, game developer Naughty Dog has expressed interest in taking over the development of the sequel. Also, “Mad Max” has a funny easter egg featuring a dead Gordon Freeman.
According to Movie News Guide, Valve Corp. was delaying the production of the sequel as zombie shooter game “Left 4 Dead 3” has taken the front seat. Although rumors suggest that the company is not actively working on the anticipated game, it will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 once it is finished.
In 2004, “Half-Life 2” was released, and the game ended without a final narrative. This prompted the fans to believe that there will be a third game. However, Screen Rant reported that the game has become something of a joke among gamers as years have passed without any news or update from the developer.
Meanwhile, Naughty Dog’s Creative Director and Programmer Neil Druckmann said that their company is interested to develop the sequel to the popular game. In fact, on his Twitter account, he said, “Look, Valve, all I’m saying is you give us the Half Life license and we’ll take care of the rest.” This was met with much fervor from fans, making the tweet receive 1,303 retweets and 1,679 favorites.
Sony-owned Naughty Dog is the company that developed the successful games “The Last of Us,” “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” and “Jax and Daxter Collection.”
In the recently released “Mad Max” game, it is hinted that the reason why “Half-Life 3” will never be made is because the main character, Gordon Freeman, has been brutally burnt and killed. The in-game easter egg shows Freeman’s corpse. A severed arm holding a crowbar and a wooden box with a number three spray painted on it can also be seen upon further exploration of the scene. Redditor TheLoudestAirhorn pointed this out on the news aggregator website much to the delight of the gaming community.
