'Half Life 3' news: still no word from developers about video game

For so long, fans of the video game series “Half Life” have been waiting for what would be the third installment of the series. Unfortunately, its publisher, Valve, has continued to keep their lips shut regarding every single aspect of the game. This current situation has forced followers of the game to speculate among themselves with some even claiming that they have reliable sources.

Meanwhile, an email said to be from the writer of the original game, Marc Laidlaw, was posted on news aggregator Reddit. A fan allegedly asked Laidlaw regarding the rumors about the game.

“I can’t comment on Valve’s internal process but it sounds like someone is trolling. Anonymous sources have been posting speculation masquerading as inside knowledge since the ‘Half-Life 1’ delay in 1997. If it’s any comfort, please rest assured that in my experience at Valve, fear is the last thing that would ever drive a decision about what to work on,” he explained.

“Half Life” has been one of those games which have been in a rut for such a long time but always seem to have speculations surrounding it like “Duke Nukem.” Latest rumors sya that the game will be released soon based on some text files found in “DOTA 2.”

However, the survival first-person shooter game was also reportedly dismissed by Valve in exchange for a more lucrative game. As reported by Forbes, Valve is hesitant to release a new outing for “Half Life” given the massive backlash that “Mass Effect 3” received.
